The
Nissan P35 was the final Nissan prototype designed by Yoshi Suzuka and
the culmination of a 10-year development cycle. The last
generation
GTP and Group C cars were the pinnacle of peak aerodynamic
downforce.
The efficiency and downforce levels will probably never be seen
again.
And while the Nissan P35 does not have a racing record to speak of, the
fact that it was the last of a series at its peak performance in and of
itself lends it to inspection.
For this article Yoshi Suzuka and Andy Galloway graciously opened their archives providing images and wind tunnel data in detail never before seen for any racecar. Many thanks to both Mr. Suzuka and Galloway as well as Johnny O'Connell, Chris Randall, Larry Sietsma, Ryan Hicks, and Bob Chapman. |
