heavily based on the sister Audi V8, the Speed 8's larger capacity 4.0
liter V8 is more powerful as the results of larger restrictors for the
closed top GTP. Note the absence of coil springs for the rear suspension
as it is 'sprung' via torsion bars.
The
rear wing mounts are spaced the maximum width apart.
The
horizontal strakes at the tail improve downforce and reduce drag.
