Jim Hall's Chaparrals are known for their revolutionary ideas being the archetype for many current design details.  The Chaparral 2J is the ground-breaking "Sucker Car".  The 2J generated aerodynamic grip via a snow mobile engine hooked up to generate suction along the underside of the underbody.

Pete Lyons, author of the book Can-Am, generously let us use some of his images and they nicely compliment the page giving us additional insight.  Many thanks to Mr. Lyons.
