The
most striking element of the B2K are the offset wheel pontoons. Instead
of having continuos bodywork covering the wheel arch and side pods, Lola
has created a separate bodywork over the wheel area and opened up the front
end of the side pod to air coming from both the nose diffuser (red flow
arrows) and down the side of the car (blue arrows). This will eliminate
the problems of hot ambient track temperatures affecting the air temperature
that the cooler receives.
