A
lot of attention has been paid to the generation of front end downforce
and developing an efficient L/D ratio. The splitter is integrated
into the front bodywork. The way you duct your cooling air
is beneficial to downforce production. The general goal being to
have the cooling intakes produce as less drag as possible while at the
same time producing as much downforce as is reasonable. Lola has
taken the BMW V12 LM route. With the absence of any intake ducts
on the top surfaces they are trying to minimize the drag produced by the
cooling package. Lola utilized the front nose diffuser to exhaust
the cooling air needed for the coolers into the sidepods. |
