Mulsanne's Corner NEWS

Mulsanne's Corner NEWS isn't meant to be THE source for up to date news items.  Instead what we are doing is providing an archive for information collected through out the Net related to new car developments.  Occasionally we do post first hand gathered items, but most of the time it is news from secondary sources such as Daily Sportscar.com or Autosport (they are much better at it than we are!).  We will provide all sources for any news item shown here.

>>Much to catch up on.  Intersport purchases MG Lola EX257.  Jon Field's Intersport team will be fielding an MG in the 2002 ALMS Championship.  Intersport now becomes the second privateer team to acquire the very potent MG.

>>Panoz unviels their '02 livery.  Note the front wheel well exit detail, hints of '02 developments.

>>Speaking of LMP-01 Evo, surf on over to Panoz Motorsports' updated website to see the definitive article, or at least most of it.  Note the heavily revised nose and new front wheel well evacuation treatment.

>>Lister LMP update:

Andy Throby:  "The car will have a carbon fibre chassis made by K.S. Composites, a  gearbox made by Hewland, and a Chevrolet LS1 engine. We are 70% through our aero program, and the numbers look pretty good so far. Because Lister is a small, tight-knit, unit, we can't throw resources at this project.  But we are aiming to match the best of the Prototypes in terms of design and engineering and will take the time necessary to do that."

>>Mulsanne's Corner extends its sincere condolences to Jeff Clinton's family.  Jeff Clinton perished in a practice accident at the Grand-Am's Homestead round.
