Mulsanne's Corner NEWS

Mulsanne's Corner NEWS isn't meant to be THE source for up to date news items.  Instead what we are doing is providing an archive for information collected through out the Net related to new car developments.  Occasionally we do post first hand gathered items, but most of the time it is news from secondary sources such as Daily Sportscar.com or Autosport (they are much better at it than we are!).  We will provide all sources for any news item shown here.

>>Chris Gorne to leave Panoz Motorsports.  As of today, Chris Gorne is no longer with Panoz Motorsports.  Chris had been with Panoz for four years as David Brabham's Race Engineer and had recently been involved with the design of the 2002 Panoz challenger as Project Manager.  Chris leaves Panoz and joins Cadillac.

>>Bentley to field one chassis at Le Mans 2002, to start season off with Sebring, and possibly end season at Petit Le Mans.  Bentley confirmed that their new engine will be a direct injection, turbo-charged, 4.0 liter V8 and will be available for testing starting this March.  The new power plant will be "developed in close cooperation with Audi".  It is safe to assume it will share much of the technological ideology, if not hardware, that went into the Le Mans winning 2001 Audi 3.6 liter V8.  The new 4.0 liter V8 will spear head Bentley's 2003 Le Mans effort.
